with a designer’s background
I trained as a woven textile designer before moving into photography, and that background has been more useful than any lighting course. Composition, colour relationships, texture, the way a fabric moves — these are things I was thinking about long before I picked up a camera. They’re still what I’m thinking about on set.
I work from my studio in Camberwell, South London — a railway arch with high ceilings, a good range of backgrounds, and the kind of space that doesn’t feel like a white box hire. Most shoots happen here, though I work on location for brands that need it.
My approach is iterative rather than instinct-led: test a setup, look at what it’s doing, adjust, try again. It’s slower in theory, faster in practice — because by the time we’re shooting for real, everything is dialled in.
Independent brands,
taken seriously
Most of my fashion photography clients are independent or emerging — labels launching a first lookbook, eCommerce businesses that have outgrown phone photos, beauty brands preparing for a wholesale pitch or press push.
The budgets are realistic and the briefs are treated with the same care as any bigger job. If you’re a small brand looking for a London fashion photographer who’ll give your project proper attention, that’s the conversation I’m here for.
